DERMAL FILLER POST- CARE

Avoid Touching the Treated Area
Refrain from pressing, massaging, or rubbing the treated area for at least 24 to 48 hours after your procedure to prevent the filler from shifting.

Avoid Alcohol and Blood Thinners
Refrain from drinking alcohol or using any blood-thinning medications like aspirin for at least 24 hours. This will reduce the risk of bruising at the injection sites.

Avoid Facials and Massages
For at least 2 weeks, avoid facials, facial massages, or anything that could put pressure on the treated areas.

Contact us with any concerns
A follow-up visit may be scheduled to assess the results of your dermal filler treatment and to determine if any touch-up procedures are necessary.

Avoid Strenuous Exercise
Avoid intense physical activities for at least 24-48 hours after your treatment. Exercise increases blood flow, which can cause the filler to move to other areas.

No Heat Exposure
It's important to avoid hot environments like saunas, hot tubs, or tanning beds for at least 24-48 hours after filler treatments. Excessive heat can increase blood flow and swelling, which could potentially affect how the filler settles or even cause it to migrate, leading to uneven results.

Wait to See Results
The results of dermal filler treatments are immediate, with full effects becoming more noticeable within the first couple of weeks as any swelling subsides. Depending on the type of filler and the area treated, results can last anywhere from 6 to 18 months.

Minimize Swelling and Bruising
Apply a cold compress to the treated area for 10-15 minutes every hour for the first few hours after the procedure to reduce swelling.

Don’t Wear Makeup Immediately
Gently cleanse your face using a mild, non-abrasive cleanser. Try to avoid applying makeup for at least 24 hours to reduce the risk of irritation or infection.

Be Aware of Possible Side Effects
Some swelling, bruising, or redness may occur after the treatment, which is normal and should resolve within a few days. However, if you experience persistent or worsening swelling, severe pain, or signs of infection (such as increased redness, heat, or discharge), contact your healthcare provider immediately.
In rare cases, vascular occlusion can occur, leading to severe pain, skin discoloration, or a blanching (whitening) of the skin. If you notice these signs, it is crucial to seek immediate medical attention to prevent further complications.
