What to Expect
Dermal filler is used to restore volume, enhance facial contours, and support natural structure while maintaining balance and harmony. Mild swelling, tenderness, or bruising may occur immediately after treatment and is a normal part of the healing process.
Results are visible right away, though your final outcome will continue to refine as swelling settles over the following days. Most areas feel and look more natural within 1–2 weeks. If anything feels unexpected or you simply want reassurance as your results settle, our team is always here to support you.

Avoid Touching or Massaging the Area
Do not rub, press, or massage treated areas for at least 24–48 hours unless instructed by your provider, as this can shift the filler before it settles.
Expect Temporary Swelling & Bruising
Swelling, tenderness, firmness, or asymmetry is normal in the first few days. Final results may take up to 1–2 weeks as swelling fully resolves.
Ice if Needed
Apply a clean, cold compress intermittently for the first 24 hours to help minimize swelling and discomfort.
Delay Other Facial Treatments
Avoid facials, massage, gua sha, microneedling, laser treatments, or dental work for at least 2 weeks unless cleared by your provider.
Avoid Intense Exercise & Heat
Avoid intense workouts, saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, and hot showers for 24–48 hours, as increased heat and blood flow can worsen swelling and bruising.
Avoid Alcohol & Blood Thinners
Refrain from alcohol, aspirin, NSAIDs, fish oil, and other blood-thinning supplements for 24 hours unless medically necessary to reduce bruising.
Avoid Makeup
Avoid applying makeup for 12–24 hours to reduce the risk of irritation or infection at injection sites.

Results & Expectations
When will I see my final results? You’ll notice immediate volume and contouring after treatment, but final results settle over 10–14 days as swelling resolves and the product integrates into the tissue. Subtle changes during this time are normal.
Is swelling or bruising normal? Yes. Mild swelling, tenderness, and occasional bruising are common and typically peak within the first 24–72 hours. These effects gradually improve and can often be concealed with makeup after the first day, if approved by your provider.
How long does filler last? Results vary based on the product used, treatment area, and your metabolism. Most fillers last 6–18 months, with some areas retaining results longer. Maintenance treatments help preserve balance and longevity.
Can results look uneven at first? Yes. Temporary swelling can make results appear asymmetrical early on. This usually resolves as swelling subsides. We recommend waiting the full 14 days before assessing the final outcome or considering any adjustments.

Will I feel the filler once it’s placed? You may feel firmness or awareness in the treated area initially. As the filler settles, it softens and feels more natural over the following weeks.
Can filler be dissolved if needed? Yes. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be safely dissolved if medically necessary or if an adjustment is desired, offering flexibility and peace of mind.
What should I watch for after filler treatment? While complications are rare, it’s important to be aware of how your body feels following treatment. Contact us promptly if you notice increasing pain, persistent blanching (whitening), unusual discoloration, or changes in sensation that do not improve. Early communication allows us to assess and address concerns quickly and effectively - your safety is always our priority.
