What to Expect
PRP treatments use your body’s own platelets and growth factors to support natural healing, collagen stimulation, and tissue regeneration. Mild redness, swelling, or tenderness at the treatment site is common immediately after treatment and typically resolves within a few days.
Results develop gradually as your skin or scalp responds to the regenerative process. Improvements continue over several weeks, with optimal results often seen after a series of treatments. If anything feels unexpected or you have questions during your healing process, please don’t hesitate to reach out - our team is here to support you.

Avoid Touching the Treated Area
Your skin is in an active repair phase. Avoid touching, rubbing, or applying pressure to the treated area for the first 24 hours to reduce irritation and risk of infection.
Avoid Anti-Inflammatory Medications + Ice
PRP works by activating your body’s natural inflammatory healing response. Avoid ice + anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, naproxen, or aspirin for 3–5 days unless otherwise directed by your provider. Acetaminophen may be used if needed.
Use Only Recommended Skincare
Stick to gentle, hydrating products provided or approved by your provider. Avoid active ingredients such as retinoids, exfoliants, acids, or vitamin C for 5–7 days, unless instructed otherwise.
Stay Hydrated & Support Healing
Drink plenty of water and follow any post-treatment skincare or supplement recommendations to support collagen production and recovery.
Avoid Strenuous Exercise & Heat
Avoid intense workouts, saunas, hot yoga, steam rooms, and hot showers for 24–48 hours, as excess heat and sweat can increase inflammation and sensitivity.
Protect Your Skin from the Sun
Your skin will be more sensitive to UV exposure. Avoid direct sun for at least 48 hours and apply mineral SPF once approved by your provider.
Avoid Additional Treatments
Avoid facials, lasers, microneedling, chemical peels, or other skin treatments for 1–2 weeks, unless cleared by your provider.
Expect Temporary Redness & Sensitivity
Redness, warmth, swelling, or tenderness at the treatment site is normal and typically resolves within a few days as healing progresses.
FAQ
Results & Expectations
When will I start to see results? Some patients notice subtle improvements within a few weeks, with continued enhancement over 4–8 weeks as collagen production increases.
How long do PRP results last? Results vary based on the treatment area and individual response. Many patients maintain results with periodic maintenance sessions as recommended by their provider.
Is swelling or bruising normal? Yes. Swelling, redness, or bruising at injection or treatment sites is common and typically resolves within several days.
Do I need multiple treatments? PRP works best as a series. Your provider will recommend a personalized treatment plan based on your goals and response.
Aftercare & Safety
Why does the treated area feel tender or tight? PRP activates your body’s natural healing response. Temporary tightness, warmth, or sensitivity is normal and part of the regenerative process.
Is PRP safe? PRP uses your own blood components, which significantly reduces the risk of allergic reaction or rejection. When performed by trained providers, it is considered a safe and well-tolerated treatment.
Will everyone get the same results? PRP works by stimulating your body’s natural healing and regenerative processes, so results can vary. Factors such as overall health, lifestyle, hydration, and consistency with treatment plans all influence outcomes. Because your body is doing the work, results are gradual and uniquely yours.
What should I watch for after treatment? Mild redness, swelling, or bruising is expected. If you experience increasing pain, significant swelling, or anything that feels concerning, please contact us promptly for evaluation.
